Ae Ja Kim, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on May 3, 2026. Born on June 14, 1941, in Seoul, South Korea, she lived a life marked by resilience, devotion, and unwavering love for her family.
Ae Ja was a survivor of the Korean War, a testament to her remarkable strength and endurance. She carried a profound gift for survival and the ability to thrive in a new country, where she worked tirelessly to establish a new life for her loved ones. Her ambition and hard work were matched only by her warmth, kindness, and lovable nature, which touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Throughout her life, Ae Ja was a devoted Catholic and a faithful member of St. Paul Chung Catholic Church, where her faith was a cornerstone of her being and a source of comfort and inspiration.
She is survived by her loving husband, Augustine Kim; her two sons, Matthew Kim and Sang Joon Kim; and her two daughters-in-law, Anna Kim and Julia Kim. Ae Ja’s legacy continues through her four cherished grandchildren: Catherine Kim, Christopher Kim, Ethan Kim, and Nolan Kim.
Ae Ja Kim’s life was one of profound dedication and love. She sought always to nurture her family and community with grace and compassion. Her memory will remain a beacon of strength and warmth to all who knew her.
