IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alan J.
Weinberg
September 13, 1949 – November 17, 2025
Alan J. Weinberg, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished partner, passed away on November 17, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on September 13, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, Alan was a man whose heart was as expansive as his love for his family.
For those fortunate enough to know him, Alan’s passion for life was unmistakable. He grew up playing ball in the streets of New York and went on to become a record-holding Division II lacrosse player, setting a goals-scored record that stood for more than 20 years. His love of sports carried through his entire life – from countless bowling and softball leagues to thousands of rounds of golf. A low single digit handicap golfer and everyone’s favorite playing partner, he brought as much laughter to the course as skill. He was happiest anywhere there was a game, whether playing, watching, or talking stats like the true sports buff that he was. A lifelong Jets fan, he joked that loyalty builds character, and he had plenty.
Alan dedicated much of his career to home appraisal, bringing precision, care, and expertise to everything he did. Beyond his profession, he found joy in great food, long beach days, spirited poker games, and anything with four wheels - especially his antique Jaguar. A lifelong learner, he devoured knowledge from a young age and loved nothing more than brainstorming big ideas. He was the family’s resident “think tank,” always eager to encourage, dream big, and champion the ambitions of the people he loved.
But above all, Alan's greatest joy was his family. He adored his children and grandkids more than life itself. He often spoke about his pride in his children - Stephanie Peebles (née Weinberg), Rebecca Weinberg Spar, and Max Weinberg, who brought boundless happiness into his life. That love and pride extended wholeheartedly to his sons-in-law, Jake Peebles and Zach Spar, and his daughter-in-law Dominique Weinberg, whom he welcomed with open arms into the family fold. Alan took great joy in watching his beloved grandchildren - Josie, Elizabeth, and Ben - grow and thrive, serving as a devoted grandpa and enthusiastically supporting them in all their activities & achievements.
Alan shared nearly 30 years with his beloved partner, Judy Wolsky. Their partnership was built on love, laughter, deep companionship, and unwavering support - a testament to their lasting bond. He will be deeply missed by his brothers, Steven Weinberg and Dennis Weinberg, and by his sister-in-law Amy Weinberg. As an uncle, he was a source of affection and fun for Sydney Taub, Jake Weinberg, and Melody Weinberg, creating memories they will forever cherish.
Alan leaves behind a legacy of curiosity, generosity, and boundless love - for sports, for ideas, for good food, and most of all for his family. His warmth and spirit will remain with all who knew him. He was the best dad, grandpa, partner, and friend, and we will feel his absence every day. His love will stay with us always.
We will be celebrating Alan's life on Saturday November 22, 2025 from 12-6PM, Please contact the family for details.
