Al Acosta

1962 — 2024

Virginia

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Al Acosta, devoted and cherished husband to Kiem, loving and dedicated father to Ben, Nick and Ava, a supportive brother to Cecilia, an influential father figure to the entire extended family, and a diligent, positive force to so many more. Al was a beacon of strength, resilience, and humor, who brought light and warmth to everyone around him.

Al passed away unexpectedly due to an aortic aneurysm. Though his passing was sudden, he was surrounded by love.

His life was fruitful marked by love, laughter, and a sense of adventure. He was the steady rock for the entire family, always taking initiative, embracing responsibility, and caring deeply for those around him. Whether it was through his wisdom, support, or ability to bring people together, Al’s presence made everything better. The impact he made on all of us remains immeasurable.

Al’s journey may have come to an end, but the love and wisdom he shared will live on forever. His presence will be felt in every family gathering, in every moment of laughter, and in the quiet strength we carry with us. We are forever grateful for the time we had with him, and we will continue to honor him by living life as he did—full of love, adventure, and laughter.

Rest well, Al. Your strength and warmth will continue to guide us as we carry you in our hearts forever. This is not goodbye; we’ll see you later.

All Our Love, ❤️

“You can shed tears that he is gone

Or you can smile because he has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back

Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him

Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember him and only that he is gone

Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty, and turn your back

Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love, and go on.”
