Anne Schleiger Hall

Anne Schleiger Hall, 70, of Centreville, Virginia, died peacefully on August 8, 2026, from complications of Parkinson’s disease. She was surrounded by her loving family: husband, Jason, and her children, Ellie and Gordon, and son-in-law Bill.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Anne moved to Washington, D.C., after graduating from the University of North Carolina in 1979 with degrees in Journalism and Studio Arts. She built a remarkable forty-three year career as a copywriter, working as a Senior Copywriter for the National Geographic Society (1979-1985), an Advertising Specialist for the World Bank (1985-1986), and later as the founder of her own company, Copy & Creative Services (1996-2022).

Anne was also an exceptional voiceover professional, launching Anne Hall Voices (2000-2022). Her successful voice-acting career included documentaries, commercials, political ads, training films, conventions, and an on-camera role in House of Cards (2013). She also served as a voiceover talent as part of President Barack Obama’s first presidential inauguration (2009) and hosted her own television series, Mature Living (2022-2024). Her work ultimately earned her a membership in the Screen Actors Guild and a plethora of industry awards, including the TIVA (Television, Internet, & Video Association of DC) Peer Awards Best Female Voiceover multiple times.

Additionally, Anne was a gifted athlete and lifelong tennis and swimming enthusiast. She competed in swimming and taught and played tennis in her youth. She and Jason, a former high school tennis team captain, especially loved playing and watching professional tennis together. When her children, Ellie and Gordon, were growing up, she became involved in the swimming community at Highlands Swim Club in McLean, serving on the Board and as the announcer at meets across the Northern Virginia Swimming League.

Anne brought extraordinary imagination, energy, and warmth to everything she did. Her joy and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her and she will be deeply missed. Her light is all around us–we just have to be brave enough to see it.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, an organization the family has supported for many years.

Anne’s family will announce the date, time, and location of a memorial service and celebration of her life in the coming months.
