A Life Well Lived

Anne Chase Sanregret, devoted mother and grandmother, gifted artist, and dedicated educator, passed away on June 20, 2026 in Gainesville, Virginia at the age of 90. Born in Detroit, Michigan to John R. Chase and Hildegarde Moutoux Chase, Anne was one of six children.

She spent most of her life in Southern California as an educator. She worked as a high school and Special Education teacher for decades in addition to her work with the Navajo Indian youth communities and with blind students. Anne was also a passionate and talented artist, bringing the gift of sculpting to her family, community, and friends.

Anne is survived by her three children, Catherine Krieg, Robert Sanregret and Margaret Shockley, as well as her six grandchildren and one great-grand daughter, who carry forward the passion and wisdom of a life beautifully and purposefully lived.
