Anthony Chen Lozano (JuanAntonio Lozano), 64, of Reston, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

Anthony was born in Tulare, California to the late Salvador Lozano and Antonia Galindo Lozano. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Chava Lozano, Eugene Lozano, and Joseph Lozano.

Anthony lived a life full of kindness, empathy, respect, humor, and love. He grew up in Visalia, California, a farming community as the eighth child in a family of ten children. He enjoyed listening to music from all around the world, was known for his delicious pies & bread, and loved getting lost in a good book or discussion. In his early years he worked alongside his parents and older siblings picking produce in the fields. He attended and graduated from Redwood High School and was accepted to UC Santa Cruz where he received a BA in Politics. It is there that he met the love of his life, Sabrina Chen. The two married in 1981 and started a beautiful family in Santa Cruz having two children, Mehira & Tzachi.

Anthony had many talents. He worked at UC Santa Cruz as the manager of the Latino American Studies program, and as the assistant director at the Affirmative Action Office. In addition to working and raising his children as the primary parent, Anthony also remodeled their home in the Santa Cruz mountains and later attended San Jose State University to become a social worker and counseled Holocaust survivors at Jewish Family Services.

In 2005 the family moved to Reston, Virginia where he continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University and worked at Fairfax County, counseling at-risk youth to help refocus their life path and encouraging them to finish high school.

Anthony was known to be a healer, possessing wisdom and insight that he graciously shared with family and friends. He possessed the ability to connect with anyone that crossed his path. The kindness he gave allowed others to truly open up and be their best selves around him. Above all, his greatest joy was his children and family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sabrina Chen Lozano (Reston, Virginia), his daughter, Mehira Chen Lozano (Vancouver, WA), his son, Tzachi Chen Lozano (Richmond, Virginia), his siblings, Blanca Lozano Gonzalez (Visalia, CA), Noé Pablo Lozano (Sunnyvale, CA), Elida Lozano Zarate (Visalia, CA), Ercilia (Sheila) Lozano Rodriguez (Santa Cruz, CA), Salvador Lozano (Hanford, CA), Mona Lozano Andrews (Bonifay, FL), and Nina Lozano Sinatra (Sanford, NC); his in-laws, nieces, and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
