Barbara King Britt, born on November 9, 1943, in Rochester, NY, passed away on May 8, 2025, in Burke, Virginia.

Barbara was a proud graduate of Marshall High School in Rochester, and continued her academic journey earning a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from Texas Tech University in 1967. She later continued her education at Virginia Theological Seminary. This foundation allowed her to blend her professional pursuits with a passion for service and community engagement throughout her life. Barbara was also an avid stamp and coin collector throughout her life, and an frequent knitter.   She was a proud member of several hobbyist groups.

She was a dedicated long-time government employee, serving with the US Bankruptcy Courts in Alexandria, Virginia, until her retirement in 2007.  Prior, she worked for BoatUS for many years.  

A cherished member of her family, Barbara is survived by her son Doug Britt (Auseh) of Great Falls, VA and daughter Jennifer Soldow (David) of Williamsburg, VA.. Her love extended to her grandchildren: William Soldow, Benjamin Soldow, Rebecca Soldow, Brady Britt, and Mina Britt, who brought joy and purpose to her later years.

Barbara is also survived by her two loving sisters, Karen King and Valerie Page. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Alvira King, and her brother, Wallace King.

The family would lastly like to thank the Sommerset and Heatherwood retirement communities in Northern Virginia who showed considerable care to Barbara through her later years.
