Barbara Joanne Hoffman entered into eternal rest on July 19, 2026, at the age of 70.

A longtime resident of Bristow, Virginia, Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, wife, aunt, and cherished friend whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering compassion touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam Thomas, whom she loved deeply and whose memory she carried with her until her final days. She was also preceded in death by her loving parents, Sally Francis White and Donald W. Hoffman, brother, Donald W. Hoffman Jr. brother, Bruce Wilson, sister, Susan Morgan and her niece, Sarah Lynn Scott along with Ronnie Foster.

She leaves behind her devoted sons, Gene Thomas (Lisa Foster) and Chris Thomas, who were the pride and joy of her life. Barbara was a proud and devoted grandmother to her five cherished grandchildren: Beau, Bella, Sarah, Everett, and Cora. Each brought her immeasurable joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She is also survived by her dear sister, Linda, whose lifelong bond with Barbara was built on love, laughter, unwavering support, and countless treasured memories. In addition, Barbara leaves behind several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. She is also lovingly remembered by Foster family and the Barnett family, who held a special place in her heart.

Throughout her career as a Financial Manager, Barbara earned the admiration and respect of her colleagues through her professionalism, integrity, and dedication. She approached every responsibility with grace and determination and was always willing to lend a helping hand or share her knowledge with others. Outside of work, Barbara found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending to her beautiful flower gardens, expressing her creativity through crafting specially making decorative wreaths and traveling to create lasting memories with family and friends. Whether nurturing her flowers, creating something beautiful with her hands, or planning her next adventure, Barbara embraced life with enthusiasm, gratitude, and a generous spirit.

To know Barbara was to experience unconditional kindness. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her gentle heart, infectious smile, thoughtful nature, and unwavering encouragement were gifts she freely shared with all who crossed her path. She celebrated life's happiest moments alongside those she loved and offered comfort, strength, and compassion during life's most difficult times.

For those fortunate enough to call Barbara a friend, she was truly one of a kind. Her friendship was steadfast, her laughter contagious, and her compassion without limits. The countless memories she created and the love she shared will remain treasured blessings in the hearts of all who knew her.

Barbara's legacy is one of love, strength, generosity, and grace. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she so freely gave will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
