Bernard Weiss, affectionately known as Bernie, passed away on October 30, 2025, in Charles Town, West Virginia. Born on March 11, 1935, in New York, New York, Bernie was a loving figure in the lives of many who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As a veteran who served in the Army from 1954 to 1956 in Alaska, Bernie exemplified dedication and commitment, qualities that defined him throughout his life. Bernie was a beloved son, brother, uncle and great-uncle. He was a wonderful friend, known for his kindness and his ability to connect with others. His engaging personality, filled with humor and warmth, made every gathering enjoyable. Friends fondly recall his propensity for telling jokes and sharing funny stories, bringing laughter into their lives.
Bernie held a lifelong passion for thoroughbred horse racing, a pursuit that brought him immense joy and excitement. He also cherished the weekly lunches and dinners with his closest friends, relishing the time spent in their company. Although he never married, his life was rich with friendships and connections, each person touched by his generous spirit.
He will now join his predeceased parents and siblings, and the love of his life, Barbara, in Eternal life. Bernie is survived by his nieces and nephews who have absolutely adored him.
Bernie Weiss will be remembered as a kind-hearted individual and a steadfast companion, leaving behind a lasting impact on all who knew him. His memories, filled with laughter and camaraderie, will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of his friends and family.
