Candy was born in Detroit Michigan in September of 1944, less than a year before the end of World War II.  She attended parochial schools until enrolling in the University of Michigan where she obtained her bachelor's in education.  Candy married Thomas Boughner, who was in the Navy nuclear submarine program, leading to their move to Virginia where Candy would remain until shortly before her passing.  Tom and Candy had two sons, Tom (Susan) and Michael (Roxanne) and is survived by them as well as five grandchildren, Grace, Luke, Connor, Kyle and Marc; one great grandchild, Elora; and a brother, Jeff (Diane). Candy's career and passion was the game of Bridge, obtaining life master status and working for the American Contract Bridge League as a tournament director in events all over the country.  Candy was preceded in death by her husband Marshall.
