Cathy Ann Chumley

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of Cathy Chumley. She left us unexpectedly on Monday to be with her Father in Heaven. She suffered a cardiac arrest from natural causes in her sleep sometime Sunday morning and, while paramedics were able to restart her heart, there was significant and irreparable brain and organ damage. 

Cathy was quick witted and could make anyone laugh out loud on a dime. On her bright days, she was an artist and loved to be in nature and with animals. She loved to do nice things for people and loved her daughters and family fiercely. 

Cathy is survived by her three beautiful daughters, Loralin, Karla, and Gabriella, two grand children, Joell and Luna, son in law, Khoi, in addition to her parents, Kenneth and Diane, partner, Jonathan, and her sister, Jennifer.

We will be celebrating her life on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm at Big Oak Manor & Ranch, 2168 Big Oak Rd, Luray, VA 22835, one of Cathy’s happy places. We’ll share stories, photos, artwork, and some of her favorite snacks.
