Cheryl Darlene Clements, affectionately known as Cherry, peacefully passed away on May 17, 2026, in her Bel Air, Maryland home, after a many years battle with Alzheimer's. Cheryl's life was adventurous and fun-loving, always keeping family and friends front and center. A devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend; Cheryl was vibrant, fierce, generous, independent and self-willed, with a loving touch; full of smiles, a sense of humor and laughter. She treasured family time and traditions: yearly family cookouts, Halloween parties and dinner theater adventures with grandkids and great grandkids.

Born on October 31, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, as the second of 10 children, Cheryl spent her childhood years in Baltimore City, doing chores, raising, protecting and playing with siblings.

Cheryl married Ralph Clements, in 1960, after a 6 week courtship. They lovingly raised their young family, near Memorial Stadium, enjoying Orioles and Colts games, family outings, and chasing down criminals; receiving numerous awards for her outstanding civic contributions, until his death in March 1990.

Cheryl married Bill McDermott, in 2004; moving to Bel Air and enjoying suburban life. They enjoyed flying airplanes, traveling to Ireland, spoiling grandchildren, duckpin bowling and socializing, until his death in June 2013.

Cheryl loved learning new things: sign language, riding motorcycles, Spanish and line dancing. Cheryl met a new life partner, while line dancing, Edward "MacDaddy" McClaskey. They enjoyed dancing and relaxing with friends.

She leaves behind her loving son, Ralph Clements, Jr; daughter Crystal Hall; daughter-in-law Cindy Clements; granddaughters DebraLee Clements and Colleen Clements; great-grandsons Brady Kuhn and David Dunlap, Jr; great-granddaughter Sophia Drexel ; siblings Andrea Osment, Kathy Hagert, Joan O'Connor, Andrew Schultz, David Schultz, James Schultz and Brian Schultz.

She is preceded in death by father Andrew Schultz; mother Helen Schultz; sister Helen "Sug" Loar; brother John Schultz; husbands Ralph Clements, Sr and William McDermott; friend Edward "MacDaddy" McClaskey.

A celebration of life party is scheduled for June 27,2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at American Legion #148, 20 S Marlyn Ave, Essex, MD 21221 for her family and friends to come together and share cherished stories and moments.
