Cheryl Ann Sinsabaugh, of Annandale, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on February, 14, 2026. She is survived by her husband Michael of Annandale, Virginia, brother Philip Fillis of Perth Australia, and sister Lynn Morton of Tasmania Australia. Cheryl will be remembered for her dry humor and her many contributions to her church and community. She will be deeply missed by family and scores of friends.

Cheryl was born in the town of Guildford in Surrey, England on December 17, 1946 to William and Sylvia Fillis. Cheryl’s family traveled extensively and she caught the bug from them. She joined the British Foreign Service and served in several embassies around the world. Cheryl met and married Michael while serving as the ambassador’s personal assistant in Bangkok, Thailand.

Cheryl loved live theater and took part in many amateur productions in many of the countries in which she lived. In fact, she and Michael met while working in an amateur production in Bangkok. She and Michael eventually decided to settle down in the Washington DC area, where Cheryl continued in the local amateur productions. She and Michael made their permanent home in Annandale, Virginia where she became a long-time active member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church.

Memorial donations may be made to Cheryl's longtime church home, St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 6800 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA. The funeral service will be held on March 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church.
