Christine Louise Petrousky

June 6, 1955 — October 21, 2024

Montclair, Virginia

Christine Louise Petrousky, born on June 6, 1955, in New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, in Washington, D.C. She is cherished by her family as a loving sister, mother and grandmother, whose life was dedicated to nurturing and uplifting those around her.

Christine earned a B.A. in English from Nyack University. This foundation served her well throughout her life, first as a stay-at-home, homeschooling mother, and later as a skilled tax preparer. She had a lifelong love of reading and literature.

Her generous spirit, sense of humor, and loving nature were hallmarks of her personality. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, Christina and Connor Rowell, often showering them with gifts and Starbucks drinks, creating memories that they will carry in their hearts forever. Her laughter and warmth will be deeply missed.

Beyond her family, Christine found joy in various hobbies. She was passionate about gardening, reading, and crafts, all of which allowed her to express her creativity and share her love of beauty with those around her. She enjoyed adventures both large and small. She had deeply enjoyed traveling extensively with her mother and daughter. England held a special place in her heart. She also appreciated exploring Virginia and D.C., especially visiting new cafes and restaurants.

Christine is survived by her daughter, Guinevere Rowell; grandchildren, Christina and Connor Rowell; brother, Biff Carey; and sister, Marcia Carey. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Petrousky, and her mother, Dorothy Carey.

As we reflect on Christine's life, we remember a woman who embodied love, generosity, and laughter. Her legacy will continue to flourish in the hearts of her family and friends and we delight in knowing she is joyfully reunited with her husband Walter.
