Christopher Ray Hoisington

March 19, 1969 — December 8, 2024

Aldie, Virginia

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Ray Hoisington, age 55, on Sunday, December 8th, 2024, at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Surrounded by his loved ones, Chris peacefully said his final goodbyes, a testament to his ability to touch the hearts of all those who knew him.

Born on March 19, 1969, in Pasadena, California, Chris was raised in Miami, Oklahoma, by his loving grandparents, Lois and Frank Bogacz, who played a central role in his upbringing. He met the love of his life, Michele, in Nebraska, and the two shared a bond that only grew stronger with time. Their love was a cornerstone of his life, and his pride in being a devoted husband was evident in everything he did. Chris’ most cherished role, however, was as a father. He took immense pride in his three daughters — Myriah, Abigail, and Rachel — and his love for them knew no bounds. He often spoke of them with admiration, marveling at the young women they were becoming. He was their rock, always there to offer advice, laughter, and unconditional love.

Chris was a man of many talents and qualities, but perhaps his sharp mind and infectious sense of humor were what made him most unforgettable. Whether it was a quick-witted remark or a playful prank on his wife, Michele, Chris had a way of making everyone laugh, even in the most challenging moments. He had a gift for lightening the mood and bringing joy to those around him, and that sense of humor stayed with him until the very end.

An avid sports fan, Chris spent countless hours cheering on the New England Patriots and enjoying various other sporting events. But more than any game or competition, it was his love for family that always came first. Chris’ commitment to his family, both immediate and extended, was unparalleled. He gave freely of his time, love, and support, and took immense joy in helping others. Whether lending a hand to a friend or giving back to his community, Chris found deep fulfillment in making a difference in the lives of those around him.

In March of 2023, Chris faced a difficult health challenge when he underwent a double lung transplant. He faced the surgery with the same determination and courage that marked his entire life. Even in the face of adversity, he never lost his ability to joke, laugh, and bring a smile to those around him. In his final act of generosity, Chris donated his tissues and other viable organs, continuing his legacy of giving to others in need.

Chris is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Lois and Frank Bogacz, his mother, Jana Pedersen, and his father, Ray Hoisington. He is survived by his devoted wife, Michele, and their three cherished daughters, Myriah, Abigail, and Rachel; his brother, Matt Hoisington (Tara); his sisters, Chantel Hoisington (Scott), Robyn Hoisington (Eric), and Erin Hoisington; his mother-in-law, Roxann Maurer; and all extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Chris’ legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, in the memories of his laughter, and in the countless lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (9748 Copeland Drive, Manassas, VA 20109), on Monday, December 16th at 6 p.m. In honor of Chris, his family asks that you carry forward his spirit of generosity, humor, and love, and share a smile with those around you, just as Chris did daily. Rest in peace, Chris. You will forever be loved and missed. Donate Here
