Christopher J. Inglese, CPA of McLean, VA passed away on October 13, 2025 at Capital Caring Hospice, Aldie, VA. He fought a courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma for over three years. He was 68 years old.
Chris graduated from Bishop O’Connell H.S. in 1975, the University of Virginia (McIntire School of Commerce) in 1979, and the American University (Kogod School of Business) in 1985.
Chris began his career with the accounting firm Touche Ross & Co., auditing large and well-known corporations. He later found his true calling when he transferred to the tax department. He had a knack for taxes. To expand his knowledge and passion, he attended graduate school to attain a M.S. in Taxation. He started his own tax consulting and preparation firm in McLean, VA in 1985 and worked with his wife, Pat, for 33 years, building a successful practice. His expertise and affable personality drew in business. Many of his clients saw him as a mentor and trusted friend, who taught them accounting to improve their life and well-being.
He was a popular instructor for many years with the FCPC ACE program, teaching tax planning for businesses. He also authored several books on tax strategies for small businesses and the self-employed.
Chris followed baseball since childhood and his favorite team was the Chicago White Sox. He wore White Sox clothing around town with pride. He also had a strong fondness of songs by Cat Stevens, often sharing his favorite lyrics with family and friends.
Chris’ life was guided by his deep Catholic faith. He served as Eucharistic Minister and Usher at his church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a faithful, loyal, and honest man, who will be missed as a husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Hope Inglese, his father-in-law Peter LaFalce, Sr., his sister-in-law Pam LaFalce and his nephew Captain Jason Back. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Pat, his daughter Brooke Clare (Jack), brother Alex Inglese (Karen), sister Ginny Inglese, brothers-in-law Peter LaFalce, Jr. and John LaFalce (Dawn), sisters-in-law Lynn Schupbach (David), Mary Kay Back (Joe), Barbara LaFalce and Elizabeth Landers (Bill), and 17 nephews and nieces.
A Funeral Mass is planned on November 14, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Luke Catholic Church, McLean, VA, with a reception immediately following at the church. Inurnment at 2:00pm at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to KOVAR at kovarva.org.
