Christopher Jay Micciche, 54, of Alexandria, VA, a beloved son, uncle, brother, cousin, and friend, passed away suddenly on April 15 after a life defined by service, loyalty, and quiet generosity.

Chris, a native of Winchester, MA,  enjoyed a 25-year career with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C. He rose through the ranks from Patrol Officer to Captain upon his retirement in 2021, after which he continued working in security and operations in the private sector. Over the course of his career, he earned the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of those he protected, leaving a lasting impact through his professionalism and steady presence.

Though he spent most of his adult life in the Washington area, Chris remained a proud New Englander at heart. He was a passionate fan of Boston sports, rarely missing a Red Sox or Patriots game. He took his fandom seriously, rooting hard and often donning one of the numerous team jerseys he owned. His love for New England extended beyond sports. In particular, he found peace and happiness along the coast of southern Maine. Music was another great joy in Chris’ life. He was an avid concertgoer and was quick with an out-of-the-blue text featuring an iconic line from the classic rock that was the soundtrack of his life.

Chris had a big heart and an abiding sense of integrity that he brought to all of his relationships – personal and professional. He always looked out for the underdog and when he had your back, there was nothing he wouldn’t do to support you. His kindness, loyalty, and understated warmth touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chris valued the years he shared with his partners, whose companionship provided him great joy. He was proud to be one of seven sons (and a triplet) born to Barbara and the late Michael Micciche, Sr. Besides Barbara, he leaves his brothers Michael, Stephen (Jennifer), Jeff (Carolyn), Mark (Jayne), Matthew (Frances), and Frank (Pam), along with numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. His legacy of service and compassion will not be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris’ name may be made to the Guillain-Barre Syndrome Foundation at www.gbs-cidp.org/donate or  St Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate. A celebration of Chris’ life will be held in the near future. If you’d like details on the service, you may email frankmicciche@gmail.com.
