Claire Jones

Our beautiful mom, Claire Luce Jones, passed away on Sept 24th after a brief illness. She left this world peacefully in her typical kind and considerate way. Our father often said, ”your mother’s mission in life was to never hurt another human being.” She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and cared for, and her kindness, compassion, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on the many lives she touched throughout her years. She most likely went to the head of the line when she reached heaven for being so caring. 

In the last months of her life, mom had constant visits, facetimes, and phone calls with her family. Family meant everything to mom. On a difficult day, her face would light up and pain was forgotten when seeing or connecting with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. The memories created around family gatherings, conversations, celebrations, and the simple moments of everyday life will be treasured by those who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed by her family and by the many friends whose lives she touched over the years. Though her absence will be felt profoundly, she will be remembered with great love, gratitude, and affection. We will strive to follow her example of compassion and kindness to all in her honor. 

We find comfort in knowing that Mom and Dad are together again. We will miss her more than words can say, but we will be forever grateful that she was our mom. Services will take place on Long Island in Spring 2027.
