It is with deep love and sadness that the family of Cris Portugal announces his passing on October 31, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on July 25, 1950, Cris lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and devotion to his family and community.

A devoted husband and proud father, Cris is survived by his beloved children Carlos Portugal, Kimberley Portugal, Julianna Portugal and Jessica Hill, who were the greatest joys of his life. He was a constant source of love, guidance, and laughter, and his children will forever carry his warmth and wisdom in their hearts. His wife, Olga Portugal and step-children Claudia House, Lorena Zegada and Andrea Nieto along with 14 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his grandson, Latrell Martin.

Cris built a remarkable career in transportation and security, serving the Washington, D.C. community and its elite for over 50 years. His professionalism, reliability, and integrity earned him the respect and trust of countless clients and colleagues. Beyond his success in business, Cris was known for his generosity and commitment to helping others. Always ready to lend a hand or share a story.

Outside of work, Cris had a lifelong passion for soccer, both as a player in his younger years and as an enthusiastic fan throughout his life. He also cherished time spent with friends and neighbors, finding great joy in being an active member of his community.

Cris will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, sense of humor, and the boundless love he shared with all who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family, his work, and the many lives he touched.

A memorial service for Cris will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Arlington, Virginia on the 21st of November at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to one of the following organizations that reflect his passions and life’s journey:
