David Michael Mitchell

David Michael Mitchell, affectionately known as Dave, was born on October 23, 1970, in Washington, DC, he left us far too soon on October 28, 2025, in Springfield, Virginia. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, who touched the lives of many through his kindness.

Dave's professional journey led him to work at Giant Foods in Lorton, Virginia, where he dedicated three years of his life and found immense pride in his role. His colleagues often spoke of his enthusiasm and commitment. He held a deep appreciation for the everyday joys in life, particularly when it came to food, fast food, and everything in between.

He earned an associate's degree in arts from Northern Virginia Community College, a testament to his dedication to learning and personal growth. Education was a significant part of his life, and he always encouraged others to pursue their passions with the same fervor.

Memories of Dave are woven together with joyful moments, including cherished trips to Williamsburg alongside his beloved sister, Louise, and numerous visits to amusement parks that brought him sheer happiness.

He is survived by his loving mother, Lela Mitchell; his sister, Lorraine Birkett, and her spouse, Steve Birkett; his brother, James Mitchell, along with his spouse, Diane Mitchell; and a host of nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of Dave in their hearts.

Though he has left us, we celebrate his life. His spirit will forever live on within the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Dave; you will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
