Dianne E. Newitt, of Alexandria, VA, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on October 19, 1964, she was the daughter of Caryl Newitt and the late June M. (Myers) Newitt. She grew up in North Andover, MA, graduating from North Andover High School and Penn State University.
She fulfilled a dream of becoming a travel agent, starting with Crimson Travel in Cambridge, MA, remaining with the same company as it changed hands to Thomas Cook Travel, American Express Travel, and American Express Global Business Travel. She progressed from a leisure travel agent to a corporate agent and then VIP travel agent, before becoming Team Leader at a Government account in Washington, DC. She was promoted to Client General Manager (CGM) for the same account shortly before her death. She loved her job, her employees, and her clients, always wanting to serve them to the best of her abilities.
She traveled extensively, visiting six of the seven continents during her travels. She was a long-time cruise enthusiast and loved everything about Walt Disney World. Away from traveling, she was a die-hard fan of the Boston teams, especially the Red Sox and Patriots, cheering them on from afar after her move to VA. She did transfer some allegiance to the Washington Nationals, but kept her love for the Red Sox. She was also a huge fan of all Nittany Lion sports teams. She was an avid animal lover, especially cats. Dianne will be missed by all that knew her.
Dianne is survived by her father, Caryl Newitt of Stoneham, MA, a brother, William Newitt, of Lexington, NC, and a sister, Lynne Newitt, of Alexandria, VA, as well as a niece, two nephews, two grandnephews, and two grandnieces. She also leaves behind many friends.
At the request of the deceased, there are no calling hours or funeral services. Any contributions (in lieu of flowers) may be made to a local non-kill animal shelter or the Humane Rescue Alliance (humanerescuealliance.org).
