Dorothy Margaret Nardozzo Sheets

Dorothy Margaret Nardozzo Sheets, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, in Virginia, at the age of 86. Born on March 4, 1939, in Rhode Island, Dorothy was a remarkable individual who lived life to the fullest, leaving a profound impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Dorothy possessed an unwavering strength that defined her character in every facet of her life. She was known for her deep love of music, fashion, and the beauty of the outdoors. Her passions extended to nurturing her beloved dogs and cat, as well as enjoying quiet moments reading her favorite fashion and entertainment magazines. Dorothy cherished her time outdoors, often taking pleasure in feeding birds and squirrels. Her enthusiasm for life was evident in simple yet joyful activities, such as attending live shows at the Birchmere and dining out with loved ones.

A devoted wife to CPO E7 retired USN Lorn J Sheets, Dorothy exemplified loyalty and commitment. She took great pride in her family, particularly in her role as a mother. Raising her daughter, Kathy Sheets, brought her immense joy, and she was known to always stand by her side, offering love and support until the very end. Dorothy’s bonds with her family were paramount, and she leaves behind not only her daughter but also Kathy’s partner William E Hammersla and sons Lorn J Sheets Douglas C  Sheets, as well as her brother, Joseph Nardozzo, and sister, Mary C Martel.

In all her interactions, Dorothy brought warmth and kindness, inspiring those around her to appreciate every moment. The memories created during her lifetime remain etched in the hearts of her family and friends. As her daughter eloquently shared, the love she gave was unparalleled, and she will be forever cherished and remembered.

Dorothy’s presence will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the lives she touched and the love she so freely gave.
