Dorothy Jean Whibley passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 30, 1957, in Washington, D.C., and lived a life centered on love, family, and friends.

Dorothy graduated from T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria VA in 1976. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Louis Whibley, on October 21, 1978, in Alexandria, Virginia. Their marriage was filled with love, loyalty, strength, support, and understanding, a bond that will never be broken.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Whibley; her daughter, Nina Williams, and son-in-law Aaron Ruebhausen of Frisco, Texas; and her son, Tory Whibley, and his fiancée Alexandra Kelminsky of Montclair, Virginia. Dorothy was a proud and deeply loving grandmother to Paige Williams of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Layla Whibley of Montclair, Virginia, who brought her endless joy and were the light of her life.

Dorothy is reunited in heaven with her father, Gene Wayne McCollum, and her mother, Dorothy Sue McCollum.

Family and friends meant everything to Dorothy. She found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved most, especially her granddaughters. She loved nothing more than being out on the course playing a round of golf, she cherished the time she spent with her high school girlfriends and the Friday Night Pizza Crew, who all became more than just friends, they became family.

Dorothy has gone home to be with the Lord, at peace and surrounded by His love. She will be remembered for her light, her kindness, and her vibrant spirit, which will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
