Edward Patrick
Muller
Aug 25, 1946 — Jul 22, 2026
Centreville, Virginia
Edward Patrick Muller, 79, of Centreville, VA, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2026. Edward was the loving husband of Patricia for over 37 years. In addition to Patricia, he was survived by his sister Kathleen Lunsford. Born in New York City, Edward was the son of the late Donald and Loretta Muller.
Edward graduated from Tulane University in 1969 and worked for the Federal government as an evaluator, program analyst, budget analyst, and trainer. He began his career at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, DC, 35 years later. In between, he worked for the Civil Service Commission (now the Office of Personnel Management), the Department of Commerce, and the Department of the Navy.
Edward loved history, geography, and travel. As a child he would study maps and identify places that he thought he would never see. Luckily, he did see many of these places and enjoyed their art galleries, cathedrals, castles, forts, and incredible vistas. But his favorite thing was to relax at a street side cafe or a beachfront bar and watch people. A good listener with a natural curiosity, he ultimately had even the most aloof Parisian waiters telling him their stories.
Edward’s wish was to have his wife and sister scatter his ashes at a place most meaningful to the three of them. His favorite charity was St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
