Ferris Jane
Hall
November 2, 1955 – March 13, 2026
Ferris was born on November 2, 1955 in Abbottsburg, NC. She was the ninth child of Clara Wright and Ted Banner. Sadly, her mother passed away in 1964 when Ferris was still very young. She was lovingly raised in Alexandria, VA by her older sister, Algie.
Ferris attended the public schools of Alexandria, where she spent most of her formative years. She later married Henry Crews, and together they made their home in Alexandria, where they raised their children. Ferris' oldest son is Teddy Hall, followed by Anthony Crews, Angela Crews, and Ferris Crews.
Ferris worked for many years as a home health aide. She had a genuine passion for helping others and took great pride in caring for those who were ill. Her kindness and compassion made her especially gifted at making her patients feel comfortable, valued, and cared for.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Ferris found great joy in helping to raise her grandchildren. She loved taking them to the park and to the movies, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. She also cherished time spent with her brothers and sisters, enjoying family gatherings, playing cards, and sharing good times together.
Ferris had a deep love for her God, Jehovah, and for the Bible. After several years of study, she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1986. She found great joy in sharing the good news of the Kingdom with her friends, family, and community. She especially looked forward to attending yearly conventions and spending time with her spiritual brothers and sisters.
Ferris was known for her delightful personality. She was cheerful, determined, strong-willed, and loving. Her children and grandchildren fondly remember attending the Kingdom Hall with her, as well as the many joyful moments they shared—water fights, playing badminton in the backyard, and spending hours playing spades and gin rummy.
Ferris was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Wright; her father, Ted Banner; her twin siblings, who passed away as infants; Wiley Wright Jr., Benny Wright, Ida Joyce Morefield, Verenia Lacey, Algie Boykins, and Percy Wright; her niece, LaFontina Andrini, and her great-grandson, Izaiah Crews.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Teddy Hall, Anthony Crews, Angela Crews, and Ferris Crews; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Ferris passed away on March 13, 2026, after a long illness. In her final days, she was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
