Garrett Lee Perry, our big little brother affectionately known as Gary, passed away on December 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and love. Born on September 17, 1962, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Rev. Calvin and Ethel Ree Perry. Gary was a vibrant spirit whose impact was felt by all who knew him.

A devoted professional, Gary spent an impressive 40 years at Macy's, where he excelled as the number one salesman in the furniture industry for several years. His dedication to providing exceptional service left a mark on both his colleagues and customers, who sought his renowned expertise and cheerful demeanor.

Gary’s academic journey began at Elmhurst High School in Fort Wayne, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning and personal growth. His persona was characterized by a unique blend of coolness, humor, and kindness, endearing him to family members and friends alike. Gary was not just a salesman; he was a source of laughter and positivity, embodying the essence of a true friend.

Beyond his professional life, Gary embraced his passion for baking, creating delightful treats that charmed every gathering. His peach cobbler became a beloved favorite among family and friends, a testament to his kindhearted nature and an expression of love through culinary art.

Gary is survived by his brothers Arthur Lee Perry, Larry Russell, Cardell Perry, James Robert Perry, Demetrius Perry, and sisters Sheila Floure, Diane Wimberly, Maureen Gray, and Beryl Greene. Special great niece and nephew Annie Henderson and Trashun Floure and a host of relatives and friends. He is deeply missed by his living family members who carry forward his spirit and the cherished memories of their time together.

Gary is also preceded in death by his siblings Calvin Perry Jr., Tina Perry, Oceanus Perry, Lee Andrew Perry, Beverly Jean Grissom, and Kimberly Perry, whose presence and influence shaped his early life.
