Gerald Lewis Rains

Gerald L. Rains, age 77, of McLean, Virginia, died September 1, 2024, at the Inova Fairfax Medical Center after a short illness. He held a master's degree in mathematics from the Michigan State University. He was a former employee of TRW, Inc. He was the son of the late Marjorie D. Rains and Edwin F. Rains. He is survived by his brother Robert E. Rains and his wife Andrea C. Jacobsen of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, as well as his nephew Paul Jacobsen-Rains, niece Emily Jacobsen-Rains, and grandnephew Azaiah Smith-Jacobsen, all of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Gerry greatly enjoyed and was knowledgeable about classical music. He had a large collection of classical recordings. There will be no memorial service. Per Gerry's request, in lieu of flowers or planting a tree, donations may be made to Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA).
