Hanna Melissa Chism of Columbia, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at the age of 47, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 1, 1979, in Santa Rosa, California, Hanna was the daughter of Karen Deychakiwsky. At the age of two, she relocated to Maryland, where she was raised in Beltsville by her mother and stepfather, Orest Deychakiwsky.

Hanna was a devoted and loving mother whose greatest joy was her children. She cherished every moment spent with her son, Devon Butler, and her daughter, Arianna Figueroa. Whether celebrating holidays, taking family vacations, enjoying walks in nature, or simply spending time together, Hanna created a life filled with warmth, laughter, and love for her family.

She will be remembered as a caring daughter, a supportive sister, a proud aunt, and a loyal friend. Her kindness and love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Hanna is survived by her beloved children, Devon Butler and Arianna Figueroa; her mother Karen Deychakiwsky; her sister, Natalie Gibson-Deychakiwsky (Shaela); her brother, Jess Valeda (Nicole); her nieces Jocelyn and Layla; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

A celebration of Hanna’s life will be held at a later date.

She will forever be remembered for her love, her strength, and the deep bond she shared with her family and friends.
