Henry Hudson Copeland, aged 86, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, in Leesburg, VA. Born on October 20, 1938.  Henry dedicated his life to his family, his country, and his professional pursuits. 

 A devoted family man, Henry’s life was anchored by his love for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Copeland; daughters, Cynthia Bapst and Diane Schuler; brother, Louis Copeland; son-in-laws, Tom Schuler and Randy Bapst; and grandchildren, Tristan and Brayden Bapst, Michael, Kirsten and Kendall Schuler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irby and Ann Copelan and his sister, Mary Francis.

Henry proudly served in the United States Marine Corp, where he embodied the values of honor and commitment. His military service was a significant chapter in his life, reflecting his dedication to duty and country. Following his military service, Henry embarked on a distinguished career. He was manager of the Sears Marine Center where he was recognized as a leader and president of the Boat Owners Association of the United States along with numerous outstanding achievement awards. Later he worked for Equity Plus, where he was recognized as a Top Producer for several years. He also contributed to Virginia Spine Institute in Medical Billing, showcasing his diverse professional skills. Henry was proudly a founding board member of the National Spine Health Foundation.

Henry’s personal interests included golf, boating and fishing, activities he cherished sharing with his grandchildren. These moments spent together were filled with joy and laughter, creating lasting memories. 

 A celebration of Henry’s life will be held at River Creek Country Club, 43800 Olympic Blvd Leesburg, VA, on November 9, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. His life was a testament to his profound commitment to his family, his nation and his community. Henry will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
