James Arthur Fowler, 84, died on October 26, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was a devoted husband, granddad and amazing father and friend.

He will be remembered for his servant heart, his love for the Lord, and the way he naturally made every place he arrived at better in some way.

He worked hard his whole life; serving in the Army, then working for US GAO, and after retirement, he was a teacher and then later ran a successful ministry bringing church to assisted living facilities. This was inspired by his experience caring for our mother (and her mother!) through end of life.

He is survived by his daughters, Karin Fowler and Kelly Nylund, son-in-law Blake Nylund and two granddaughters; Zoe Nylund and Jillian Nylund. He is also survived by his sister, Sulane Blansett and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He will be interred at Arlington cemetery, alongside our mother, at a private family service at a later date. Sooner than that we will have a celebration of life (details to follow).
