Jane Neelene Lamb passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, at the Fairfax Nursing Home in Fairfax, Virginia. She will be remembered as an intelligent and reflective woman whose life was marked by integrity, quiet determination, and a lifelong devotion to writing.

An avid journaler, Jane found meaning and solace in recording her thoughts, observations, and reflections. Writing was both a discipline and a joy, allowing her to engage deeply with the world and to preserve her inner life. She also possessed a dry, playful, and sharp sense of humor—often understated, always perceptive—which delighted those who knew her well.

Jane was a pioneer of her generation. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Indiana and went on to attend Georgetown University Law, where she was among the first women to enter the field. She built a distinguished legal and professional career, including serving as President of the Young Lawyers Association in Washington, DC, and later excelling in contracts management and consulting. She was particularly respected for her work at Georgetown University, where she was admired for her clarity of thought, professionalism, and exceptional written communication.

Jane was also a co-founder of the Unity Club of Falls Church, a meeting place for members of Alcoholics Anonymous and other recovery fellowships based on the Twelve Steps of AA. Through this work, she helped create a sanctuary for newly recovered individuals—fostering connection, stability, and a strong support-group system rooted in compassion and service.

Throughout her life, Jane was known for her independence, resilience, and keen intellect. She valued learning, personal growth, and a life lived with intention. Writing remained a constant presence throughout her journey.

Jane shared a strong and meaningful connection with her Oak Ridge community and was deeply loved by her neighbors— Mayor Bob, Sammi, Tennley, Patti, Patrick, Debbie, Lucy, and Marcus—whose friendship and care meant a great deal to her.

She is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Layton, Kelsey, Neal, and Ben, and her cousin Betty who brought her great pride and happiness, as well as by her dear friends Jan, Jorge, and Monia, who cared for her deeply and held her close in their hearts.

A service to celebrate Jane’s life will be held on December 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, at 7112 Oak Ridge Road, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane Lamb’s name may be made to the Unity Club of Falls Church, an organization close to her heart, at https://www.unityclub.com/.

Jane Neelene Lamb will be remembered for her thoughtful spirit, her pioneering path, her quiet wit, and the many words—and lives—she so carefully touched.
