Jia "Amy" Liu

Jia "Amy" Liu, born on January 8, 1978 in China, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, in Oakton, Virginia, surrounded by her loved ones. Amy, as a beloved mother, neighbor, and friend to many, lived a life marked by grace, resilience and generosity, touching the hearts of those around her with smile, kindness and warmth.

As a dedicated educator, the number of minds and hearts touched by Amy is immeasurable. Serving as a Fairfax public school teacher, she has motivated many young learners. Also serving as a summer camp teacher, yoga instructor and Chinese language teacher over the weekend, she inspired a love for learning and sharing with many. She earned an MBA degree from Anglia Ruskin University (UK) and an Associate Degree in Fashion Design from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. She loved painting, travelling, cooking, jogging and volunteering for charities. Amy is survived by her husband Danny and their young son Ian.

A pre-cremation visitation for friends, neighbors and former colleagues will be held between 9 a.m.-11 a.m., Saturday August 16, 2025 at Carewell Cremations, located at 2929 Eskridge Rd STE N, Fairfax, VA 22031.
