Jimmy Dwayne Munoz Gutierrez, age 60, of Baltimore, MD, passed away peacefully at 12:00

pm on June 16th 2025, at the University of Maryland Medical Center. To honor Jim’s life, family

and friends may attend his burial at Quantico National Cemetery on June 30th 2025 at 1:00

pm.

Jim Gutierrez was born September 17, 1964 in Moline, Illinois to Ernest and Jane Gutierrez. He

grew up with six siblings Nancy, Dora, Jane, Bertha (Bert), Ernie, and Bonnie. The family moved

from Moline, Illinois to Dubuque, Iowa in 1972. Jim enjoyed spending his time at the Boys and

Girls Club where he developed an interest in carpentry. Other interests included photography,

art, cars, and drafting. He graduated from Hempstead High School in 1983. After high school,

Jim served 3 years and 3 months in the United States Marine Corps. After his service, he was

self-employed in residential and commercial carpentry, roofing, and cabinetry.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his sons Cameron and Alexander, watching

movies, cooking, and baking. Jim was very artistic and passed his artistic talents down to his

sons. Which they quickly learned can be very healing when faced with adversity. Jim passed

away peacefully on June 16th 2025, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore,

Maryland.

Jim is looked upon favorably as lovable, dependable, hardworking, humorous, handsome, and

very intelligent. He was well liked by nearly everyone he met. Those left to cherish Jim’s

memory include his former partner and friend Candice Parker, their two sons, Cameron and

Alexander Gutierrez, Rockville, MD; his father Ernest Gutierrez, Dubuque, IA; 5 siblings Jane

Gutierrez, Gallatin, TN, Dora (Scott) Rogers, Dubuque, IA; Bertha (Rob) Tallman, Bald Knob,

AR; Ernest (Trish) Gutierrez, Jacksonville, NC; Bonnie Gutierrez, Dubuque, IA.

Jim was preceded by his mother Jane Gutierrez and his older sister Nancy Kennedy.
