Jo Ann Marie Bellak

Jo Ann Marie Bellak, age 73 years, passed away on Saturday June 8 in Alexandria, Virginia. She was a lifelong resident of Fairfax County, the beloved daughter of Joseph Michael Bellak (1921-1966) & Anne Artinian Bellak (1921-2006), and a stalwart companion to her school friends from Bren Mar Park & the Armenian Community. After her 1968 graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School, Jo Ann joined the government workforce in the National Park Service - including Federal Land Acquisition and the Park Police. She will be remembered as a principled person whose hard work as a union representative benefited her many colleagues. She loved her cats, watching baseball, researching adventurous recipes, and the Christmas season.

Jo Ann is survived by her children - Nicholas (Megan) Ruchlewicz of Herndon, VA and Joseph Ruchlewicz of Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by extended family through her siblings.

No public celebrations of life have been planned by the family, but instead she will be laid to rest privately in her favorite vacation spot.
