Joan Marie James, age 71, went home to be with the Lord August 23, 2026 at Inova Fairfax Hospital, in Fairfax, Virginia.
Joan was born October 26, 1954, in Arlington County, Virginia, a daughter of the late David and Marian Cazalas.
Joan is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, David James, her cherished son Daniel (Michelle) of Burke, Virginia, her dear sisters Betty Gramling of Mineral, Virginia, Cathy Osborne of Stafford, Virginia, Mary Cazalas of Gilbert, AZ along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Joan touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her vibrance, gentle heart and generous spirit will be remembered forever. Joan leaves behind a legacy of love that lives in all of us.
A celebration of the kindness and love that embodied Joan will be held on September 19, 2026 at 12:00pm at Fairfax Baptist Temple.
