In Loving Memory of Joanna Park
Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy, and she loved each of them with all her heart.
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Joanna Park, who entered into the loving arms of the Lord on July 9, 2026, at the age of 73.
Joanna was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and faithful friend whose greatest joy was caring for the people she loved. She had a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and a quiet strength that made everyone around her feel welcomed, cared for, and deeply loved. Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy, and she loved each of them with all her heart.
She lived with determination and resilience. As a marathon runner, she embraced life’s challenges with perseverance, discipline, and hope. Even during her long battle with glioblastoma, she faced each day with remarkable courage, grace, and unwavering faith, inspiring everyone around her with her quiet strength.
Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life and guided the way she loved, served, forgave, and cared for others. In her final days, she was surrounded by her family, who found comfort in holding her hand, praying together, and reminding her how deeply she was loved.
Her love and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Heung-chul Park; her children, Sun Young, Joo Young, and Sang Wook; her sons-in-law, Jung Hyun and Kevin; her daughter-in-law, Harah; her beloved grandchildren, Clare, Paul, Lucas, and Ella; and her precious granddaughter, Sophia, who is expected to be born this August. She also leaves behind many relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish her love, kindness, and beautiful example of faith.
While our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing that she is now free from pain and resting in the eternal peace of Christ. Her love and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Our family is deeply grateful to everyone who supported us with prayers, meals, visits, and countless acts of kindness throughout her illness. Your compassion carried us through one of the most difficult seasons of our lives.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Joanna’s life and faith will be held at St. Paul Chung Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by cremation and interment at Fairfax Memorial Park.
