IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Thomas
Blake
May 10, 1938 – December 19, 2025
John Thomas Blake, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by his three devoted daughters—Anne Cleverley, Kathryn Blake, and Julia Bilodeau. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Blake and Veronica Blake (Olkoski), and his devoted wife of sixty years, Carolyn Sue Blake (Schank).
In addition to his daughters, he is survived by his son-in-laws Stan Cleverley, Barry Wilson, and Michael Bilodeau. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Adrienne Beck, Blake Cleverley, Will Fitch, and Ethan Fitch, and his great-grandchildren, Hallie Beck and Sophie Beck. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews—Fred Zehrer, Carolyn Zehrer, Amanda Erickson, Kevin Schank, Kristen Burnette, and Lauren Kaiser.
Family was the cornerstone of John’s existence. He built a loving legacy that has radiated through four generations, particularly evident in the cherished summers spent together on Swans Island, Maine. For fifty summers, this idyllic locale has become a backdrop for countless family memories, embodying John's belief that time spent with family and friends was the most precious treasure.
John was known for his big smile and fun-loving personality. He loved music and sang in several choirs and barbershop groups throughout the course of his life. He also never missed an opportunity to hit the dance floor. He had a delightful knack for humor, often sending jokes via email to everyone on his contact list.
As we remember John, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, friendships and an enduring legacy of family, one that will continue to inspire and uplift across generations.
