John Joseph Vaughan

John passed peacefully in his home in Elkton, MD on June 15, 2026 in the arms of his loving wife Eileen. Born in Ridgewood, NJ, he lived in Bergen County for most of his life, moving to Maryland in 2023. He spent his childhood summers on Cape Cod, MA where he has memories that lasted him his whole life. John attended Our Lady of Mt Carmel Grammar School, George Washington Middle School and Don Bosco High School.

John was best knows for his sense of humor, his passion for photography, fishing, hunting, shooting, boating and his eternal love for his Parents, Lois Vaughan (O'Connor) and James D. Vaughan, Jr., his children, Sheila (Dave), John (Hannah) and Timmon (Duke), his stepchildren Aram (Jill) and Talin (Sam).  And of course his love for his 10 beautiful grandchildren.

Surviving are his family members, Jim III (Cathy), Tracy, Kate (Heather), Sheila (Mike), Chris (Jody) and Molly (Bill) and his Brother and Sister in laws, Bob (Marge), Pat (Larry), Kathleen (Steve), Maryjean (Bob) and Liz (Nigel). He was predeceased by his brother Michael and his brother and sister in laws Michael (Theresa) and Carol (Dave).

A Memorial mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in North East, MD on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Chd (Congenital Heart Defects) inspired by his Grandson, Emmett.
