Judith Ann Boddie (Judy) was born on August 3, 1955 on Clark Air Force Base in Manila, Philippines to Virginia Janet and John Wesley Boddie.  After her parents left the Air Force and returned to the United States, the family settled in Alexandria, VA.  Judy graduated from Mount Vernon High School (1973) before going on to earn Undergraduate and Graduate degrees at the University of Virginia.

Through a serendipitous encounter with then Senator John McCain at the Fish Market in Old Town, Alexandria, opportunities opened for Judy to begin her meaningful career on Capitol Hill.  She worked for several Senators and Congressional Committees then moved into a long career in Government Relations with the Edison Electric Institute (EEI).

Judy found peace, joy, and companionship over the past fourteen years by living "one day at a time" and committing her life to a loving community of others on the same spiritual journey.  She took great delight in warm, sunny weather, the sound of the ocean at the beach, mystery novels, Shih Tzu dogs, thin crust pizza, spending Christmas with family in Milwaukee, and being of service within her chosen community.

Judy transitioned from this life with her sister by her side on March 29, 2026 at the age of 70. While Judy's spirit remains with us, her presence will be dearly missed by her sister Laurie Boddie, nephew Henry Bourassa (Jessica Foley), great niece Olivia Bourassa, and brother-in-law Kevin Bourassa.  Judy's family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude for the loving care provided for Judy during the last several months of her life.  Special appreciation for the support of her dear friend Gail, Amy with Eldercare Consultants, Lucy with Caring for Life, and the compassionate professionals with Goodwin Hospice.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to share an expression of sympathy are encouraged to donate to the Hospice Fund of the Goodwin Living Foundation.
