Juliet Rozalind Grant, 87 years old, resident of Brightwood neighborhood in Northwest Washington, DC passed away quietly at Medstar Washington Hospital Center on the afternoon of June 22, 2024, after a long battle with dementia. 

 Juliet was born Juliet Rozalind Moore on a Monday, June 14, 1937, in the parish of Portland, on the island of Jamacia to Lillian Victoria Smith and Kylus Moore. Juliet had two sisters, May Moore, Neresa Moore, and two Brothers; Andy Moore, Rodney Moore, (all deceased) and her nickname was June. Juliet was a Gemini, and her birth stone is a pearl, the rose is her birth flower. 

 Juliet married Simon Elazar Grant (deceased) in the mid 1960s and had one daughter; Elaine Melcedes Richards(deceased), and two sons; Alfred George Grant, and Frank Robert Grant.

 Juliet immigrated to the Washington, DC area with her young family in the 1974, where she worked for the Federal government as a data processor / clerk at the Department of Veteran Affairs for over 20 years. Juliet was a part of the congregation of the Foundry United Methodist church on 16th and P street NW and took her children there for many years.

 In Juliet’s spare time, she enjoyed singing, reading books, traveling to other US cities, volunteering at local churches, and visiting local thrift stores in searching for treasures that she liked. She was very fugal with her money; she was always shopped for the best prices even if it took her all day on the metro buses to go to many different shops. She also frequented many local food banks in the area in her later years.

After her retirement from the federal government, Juliet attended classes at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in early 2000s. 

Juliet is survived by her two sons; Alfred George Grant, (Australia), Frank Robert Grant, and two grandchildren; Alfred George Grant II. (New York), Jordan Robert Grant, and adopted daughter, Tiphanie High, and adopted grandson, Neo Walter Laurence Bradley High.
