With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Kathryn Elaine Wuebker. Kathy passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 81 at her Annandale VA residence after a long battle with dementia. Kathy was born in Danville, IL and raised in San Bernardino, CA and lived most of her adult life raising her family in Northern Virginia area. Her life was marked by devotion to her family and teaching in the local area schools. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Larry Wuebker.

Kathy was the proud loving mother of 4 children- Joe Wuebker, Kara Williams, Jennifer Dougherty (Mike Dougherty) and Melissa Dorre (Jordan Dorre)-and 9 grandchildren-Scott, Justin and Caroline Williams, Logan and Drew Dougherty, and Isabelle, Miles, Kathryn and Laurenne Dorre. Kathy is also survived by her sister Alice Orr.

Kathy earned her master’s degree in education from University of Virginia and taught in both rural and urban public schools throughout Virginia. She retired from Loudoun County Public Schools in 2013 as a reading and special education teacher. She was also an avid and skilled seamstress and even sewed her daughter Jennifer’s wedding gown. Lastly, her passion was always for her children and grandchildren. She was the original “soccer and swim mom” and even enjoyed the role a 2nd time around with her grandchildren. 

A private family gathering will be held in her honor.
