Kathy Lynn Sutton

Kathy Lynn Sutton departed this world on February 14, 2026. Kathy was born in the summer of 1949 to the late George and Ruth Collingsworth Barton. She was the oldest of three among her siblings Donny and Bobby. Born in Bell County Kentucky, Kathy grew up and lived most of her life in Guilford County North Carolina.

Kathy was a claims administrator for Jefferson Pilot Life Insurance (now known as Lincoln Financial). In the early 1980's, Kathy was certified as a paramedic, and achieved the highest test score at her EMS station in over a decade. She was devoted to family, passionate about animals, enjoyed gardening and cooking, and was an avid reader with a large personal library.

Kathy was the dearly beloved widow of the late John Martin Sutton. She is survived by her son Matt, her daughter Laura, and her grandchildren Mary Kate and Sutton. We miss her sweet demeanor, caring and motherly nature, tiny frame, and big smile.

Graveside service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd, Greensboro NC 27407.
