Kathyrn Lovelace Griffey LePelley

Kathyrn Lovelace Griffey LePelley, age 78, of Alexandria VA, passed away on August 7th, 2026.

She was born on July 11th, 1948 in West Helena AR, to Robert Griffey and Jayne Cundiff.

Fred Rogers once said “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' "

Kathyrn was always helping others. She talked to everyone and loved hearing their stories. She will be remembered as an avid motorcyclist, devoted spouse and parent, and caring friend. Her motto: Ain't life grand!

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Jayne, and her brother Robin. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Lynn, her children Marianne and Kirk, sisters Becky and Frances, brothers-in-law Richard and Bill, and 6 nieces and nephews.
