Kenneth Lloyd Glick

February 23, 1953 — May 15, 2024

Ken was born in Pasadena, CA, to Lloyd Coulson Glick and Shirley Reed Murphy. He grew up in nearby Temple City. He was a serious, intense child, curious, inventive, an insatiable reader and learner, with a great wit and sense of humor to lighten his serious temperament.

As a child of a musical family, Ken took up the French horn and played through high school. He was a Boy Scout and earned his God and Country award and Eagle Scout at age 13. Ken was always a deep thinker, but a doer as well, full of energy and always looking for his next project.

After high school, Ken graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Economics/Religion from U.S. International University, San Diego (1975). Three years later, he graduated from Western States College of Law (Thomas Jefferson U), San Diego. He was admitted to the California Bar (1978), the Maryland Bar (1981), and the District of Columbia Bar (2013).

Ken’s life was marked by a dramatic Christian conversion in 1975, and thereafter, serving Jesus Christ became the dominant, overriding interest of his life, permeating his education and all areas of his life and employment.

Ken’s professional life began as an economist and project manager for the Federal Regulatory Commission (FERC). He moved to the legal department as a trial attorney and then an attorney advisor, drafting rules, agency orders, and national energy regulatory policy. After four years at FERC, Ken worked 30 years as an attorney in the energy sector, including a Washington, D.C. law firm, corporate energy companies, and four state agencies. He also served as an executive director of a community action council in California that operated housing and food programs. He also participated in international workshops to train global energy regulators.

In 2013, Ken’s life changed again when he was called to missionary service in Uganda. Ken married Olesya Tymchak (now Glick, a citizen of Ukraine) in 2017. Together they continued missionary and healing work at home and abroad.

Ken has one son, Kevin Glick (b. 1982), from an earlier marriage, and three grandsons. He is survived by his wife Olesya Glick, father Lloyd Coulson Glick, sister Sharon May, sister Uma Silbey and stepmother Judy Glick.

Ken was a minister of the Gospel. He was a very generous giver with a big sacrificial heart. He co-founded Covenant Global Ministries USA Inc. They help many distressed people with humanitarian aid and support the work of the Gospel in Uganda, Ukraine, India and other countries. Ken did many missionary trips to Africa and Ukraine. Covenant Global Ministries provided significant help to Ukrainians during the war in Ukraine. You can find out more about this charity on its webpage: https://www.cgmusa.org/ . Currently, Covenant Global Ministries is looking for volunteers who can help continue the mission that Ken was on fire for. Also, you can find donation information on that page.

Ken and his wife Olesya were a perfect match from the Lord who flowed in ministry together. They saw many people come to the Lord; many people were divinely healed through Ken’s prayer and faith. Moreover, several marriages were saved through their God-lead ministry. Ken and Olesya’s marriage, that was officiated on October 21, 2017 was a blessing for both of them. In the beginning of their marriage Ken promised Olesya: “Our life will never be boring!” He kept his promise. Kenneth always eagerly desired to help Olesya fulfill her calling from the Lord. He was also a very romantic and loving husband. Olesya was often surprised by his gifts and cards secretly placed in very unpredictable places.

Ken’s favorite Scripture for his marriage with Olesya was:

John 13:20 Truly, truly I say to you, the one who receives anyone I send, receives Me; and the one who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”

One of Ken’s favorite Scriptures about ministry was:

Mt 10:7-8 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Ken wrote a book about his second late start in life and ministry titled “Called to Uganda; Starting Life Over at Age 59”. It will be published soon.

The other of his publications are:

"Fables of Faith Series: The Older Brother /There are No Fathers"

"Messages for Men Series: An Overview of Discipleship"

"Reading Sheet Music Made Simple; a Guide to Musical Notation, Chord Theory, and Keyboard Layout".

First and foremost, Ken was and is a child of God. He is in Heaven now, because of his faith in Jesus Christ. For those who received Christ, it brings a lot of comfort knowing they will see him again through God’s grace.

THE CELEBRATION OF KENNETH` S LIFE will be held at 3 p.m. ET , Sunday, June 30th at the Punto de Vida Church, 19110 Montgomery Village Avenue, suite 340, Gaithersburg MD, 20886.

We will share our memories of Kenneth, hear about his achievements for God, legacy for individuals, communities and countries. Before passing, Ken asked for the atmosphere of the meeting to be joyful and not gloomy. Kenneth had a brilliant sense of humor. It would be great if you can recollect at least one of his jokes that was especially funny.

Since Kenneth had a passion to see people saved, healed, and delivered by the name of Jesus Christ, there will be a prayer for divine healing at the end of the meeting. There will be guests with us who have been used by God to heal various health conditions (including Down syndrome, cancer etc), and raise the dead. They will pray if needed for you or a person/ people whom you bring with you. Everyone is welcome!

The meeting will be officiated by Russell Vines.

There will be reception with light refreshment afterwards. In lieu of flowers, please, consider donating to Covenant Global Ministries USA Inc.(CGMUSA), the charity that Kenneth cofounded 10 years ago. You will see various opportunities to donate there, but I would encourage you to support the efforts being done in India or Ukraine, as they are in a dire need of funding. Here is the link for donation: https://www.cgmusa.org/make-a-donation

Regarding Parking: the church is located in a shopping center, so there’s a lot of free parking available.

For those who cannot be present with us, the meeting will be live streamed through Ken Lloyd`s account on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100087428487940.
