Lakshmikantham Gannavaram, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30th, surrounded by his loving family, including his devoted wife, his three children and their spouses, and his cherished grandchildren.

Lakshmikantham was born in Madanapalle, Nellore, and later made his home in Hyderabad and Nellore. He completed his higher education at Osmania University, earning degrees in commerce and law. He went on to have a long and successful career as a regional manager at a life insurance company, serving in this role with dedication and integrity until his retirement.

Above all else, Lakshmikantham was a family man. He married Hemalatha on May 7th, 1962, and together they shared 63 years of marriage, building a life rooted in companionship and mutual respect. Their journey took them through Chennai and Hyderabad before they eventually settled in Nellore, where they spent more than two decades surrounded by family and community.

Together, they raised three children—Maha, Radhika, and Shiva—and placed great importance on education, believing strongly that all of his children should be highly educated and self-sufficient. This value guided many of his decisions as a parent and remained central to the way he shaped his family. In 2023, Lakshmikantham and Hemalatha moved to the United States to be closer to their loved ones. They spent time in Virginia, California, and New Jersey, sharing meaningful moments with their nine grandchildren and experiencing the joy of meeting their two great-grandchildren. He deeply valued time spent with his grandchildren and found great happiness in being present for family gatherings and milestones.

Lakshmikantham was a deeply spiritual man who remained devoted to his faith and cultural traditions throughout his life. He found peace in reading sacred texts and practicing meditation. He also enjoyed long walks in his community and had a lifelong love for music, often listening to and singing devotional and classical songs, which brought him and those around him comfort and joy.

Lakshmikantham lived a full and meaningful life, guided by faith, family, and quiet strength. He is survived by his beloved wife, Hemalatha; his children, Mahalakshmi and her husband Sagar, Radhika and her husband Ramesh, and Shiva and his wife Bhramari; his grandchildren, Sas and Cristina, Vamsi and Dhvani, Gautam, Vishnu, Meenakshi, Sowmya, Shivani, Ramya, and Lasya; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Kavi and Vico.

The viewing and cremation will be held on Wednesday, December 30th, from 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM at 2929 Eskridge Road, Suite N, Fairfax, VA 22031.

The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support extended to them during this difficult time.
