In Loving Memory
Lance Darren Paige departed this life on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Capital Caring Adler Center in Aldie, Virginia, after a 28-month battle with cancer. Lance was in the presence of his sister, Arretta Paige.
Lance was a beloved son, sibling, parent, grandparent, uncle, friend, and a treasured member of the community. Lance was known for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. He brought joy and warmth to all who knew him. Lance was born on December 10, 1960, in Fairfax County, Virginia, to the late Carroll Emory Paige Jr., and Geneva Paige. He spent most of his life in the Herndon and Reston area. He attended Herndon High School and later went on to obtain his GED.
Lance worked several jobs, including as a maintenance technician at MITRE Corporation. He later worked as a mover for Campbell Moving and Storage for 15 years and maintenance technician with Greystar until his cancer diagnosis. Lance enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, playing the lottery, fishing, pitching horseshoes, watching westerns like Gunsmoke, and watching basketball. Lance was a true Commanders fan. He accepted Christ under the leadership of Pastor Isaac Howard of Howard Ministries Church on November 23, 2022.
Lance is preceded in death by his father, Carroll Emory Paige Jr., (Cakie); his siblings, Carroll Emory Paige III and Loretta Nicole Paige; his maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Hearns; and his paternal grandparents, Carroll Emory Paige Sr., and Emma Frances Howard Paige.
Lance is survived by his mother Geneva Paige; his children, Shannon (Tyrone) Lambert, Jonita (Mathew) Green, Lance (Stephanie) Paige Jr., Erika (Christopher) McLean, Troey (Lindsay) Paige, Amber (Ivan) Tagoe, Devon (Ashley) Wilkerson, Tyrell Wilkerson, and Jahnisa Butler; sixteen grandchildren; his sisters, Fran (Eric) Crawley, Carol Reynolds, and Arretta Paige; his brothers, Richard Paige and Kirk Paige; his uncle, William Paige; his aunts Dorothy (Dottie) Wilkerson and Brenda Jones; four nieces; three nephews; as well as great nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
