April 25, 1964 — February 21, 2025

Woodbridge, Virginia

Laura Marie Carberry Iddings, 60, of Woodbridge, Virginia, formerly of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.

Born on April 25, 1964, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Laura was the beloved youngest daughter of CWO3 William F. and Marian H. (Allen) Carberry. She was raised in Athens, Pennsylvania, graduating from Athens High School in 1982, before pursuing her passion for nursing at Penn State University, where she earned her degree in Nursing Sciences. She then attended Arnot Ogdon Medical School of Nursing, becoming a Registered Nurse in 1994.

Laura dedicated her career to caring for the tiniest and most vulnerable lives in the NICU, a job she poured her heart into with compassion and dedication. Her kindness and warmth extended far beyond the hospital--especially to her cherished feline companions. Over the years, Laura never met a cat she didn't adore, and her home was shared with multiple furry friends.

She had a deep love for Christmas and always looked forward to the season, finding joy in the traditions, the spirit of giving, and the warmth of family.

Laura was also an adventurer at heart. She found happiness traveling to beaches near and far, embracing the sun, sand, and sea.

She is predeceased by her parents, CWO3 (Army) William and Marian (Allen) Carberry, her beloved daughter, Emily Joy, and her brother-in-law, Alex Stampoulis.

Laura is survived by her children, Casey and Kellyanne Iddings, her siblings and their spouses, Susan (Don) Lange, Marian (Clayton) Loushay, Patricia Stampoulis, Pamela (Dr. Eduardo) Erenwald, Ret. LTC (Army) William (Stephanie) Carberry, and Douglas (Colleen) Carberry; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins, who adored her.

A private service for immediate family will be held in Woodbridge, Virginia. A burial and celebration of life will be held in Sayre, Pennsylvania at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor Laura in the way she would have wanted, together with love and laughter.
