Linda Lee Brown, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on October 18, 2025, in Vienna, Virginia, after a courageous four-and-a-half-year battle with metastasized pancreatic cancer. Born on April 10, 1947, in Lansing, Michigan, Linda was the embodiment of strength and warmth, a guiding light in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Linda earned both a Bachelors and a Master's Degree from Michigan State University. She met her husband William, in East Lansing, Michigan while completing her student teaching. She was a home daycare provider for many years and then a kindergarten teacher at Saint Thomas Aquinas in East Lansing, Michigan.

Family was the cornerstone of Linda's life, and her adventures with them created a rich tapestry of memories. From family camping trips across the United States, to annual visits to Miami, Florida, to see Grandma Ullman, every journey was an opportunity to create lasting connections. As her family grew, the tradition of warm, sunny vacations continued, where laughter and love filled each moment. Sunday calls were a steadfast ritual, where her daughters would check in and update their parents on the week's happenings.

Linda was blessed with a deep and fulfilling marriage to her late husband, William C. Brown, lasting an impressive 55 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising their three daughters: Kathleen “Katy” Lee (spouse David, and their children Julia and Spencer), Jeanne Nienhaus (ex-spouse Michael, and their child Eleanor "Elly") and Melissa Matthews (spouse Shawn, and their child Mason). Linda also loved the Matthews’ dogs Bodie and Ripley who were great companions to her in her final years while living with the Matthews. Linda was immensely proud of her daughters and grandchildren, compiling yearly picture books for each grandchild to remember highlights, a testament to her enduring love and devotion.

A woman of many interests, Linda embraced life with an adventurous spirit. She could often be found traveling to new destinations or planning the next adventure, savoring a good book, solving puzzles, or sewing—each hobby reflecting her creative and caring nature. Her strong personality was infused with a witty sense of humor that could brighten any room, endearing her to all who encountered her.

Linda will be deeply missed by her family: her daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

As we remember Linda Lee Brown, we honor a life beautifully lived—a life dedicated to family, education, and the pursuit of joy. Her spirit will remain alive in the hearts and thoughts of those who loved her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
