Loretta Louise (Hall) Hilliard, born in the quiet heart of Dickerson County, Virginia, on January 17, 1953, gracefully stepped into the realm of eternal peace on December 20, 2025. Her journey through life was characterized by resilience and an indomitable spirit that shone brightly even amid challenges. Loretta's story is not only one of adversity but also of love, laughter, and profound family connections.

Loretta dedicated herself to her work early in life, spending meaningful time at Goodwill and various warehouse factories until health circumstances gently led her to the early embrace of retirement. Even as she faced the trials brought on by illness, her spirit remained untamed a testament to her extraordinary character. She was a fighter who truly never quit, balance in her life found in the symphony family. Loretta’s heart expanded to hold deep love for her children—Aimee Rodriguez-Zepeda (Ray), Robert Kiser (Randi), and Holli Kiser—and her thirteen cherished grandchildren: Marianna, Ty, Kyla, Michael, Aniya, Kayla, Nate, Naisha, Adam, Tatiana, Patrick, Derek, and Erick. The newest additions to this vibrant lineage, her great-grandchildren Artemis and Pan Leora, embodied the legacy of joy and laughter that Loretta nurtured throughout her life.

Loretta’s ability to connect with others was unique; she had an uncanny knack for expressing just the right words even in the most unexpected of moments, and offering comfort at sensitive times. Her presence brought warmth to family gatherings and an unmistakable sparkle that mirrored the joy she found in simple pleasures. Known for her love of bingo, her fondness for Elvis Presley, and a good movie, she lived with a zest for life that was palpable. Those who knew Loretta knew she loved listening to old LP records, loved pink roses, tulips and Easter lilies, or indulging in the thrill of a casino visit. Through it all, her kindness, thoughtfulness, and selfless spirit resonated with everyone who crossed her path, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

Loretta's journey has been embraced by those who preceded her in death,  including her  grandparents, General "Thurman" Hall (Father), and Lena (Counts) Wallace (Mother), along with her nephew, David "Red" Edwards, brother Donnie "Mack" Edwards Sr., and sister Lola Bennett. Though they are no longer with us, their spirits undoubtedly surround her as she transitioned. As we reflect on Loretta’s life, we honor a soul that fought valiantly, loved deeply, and cared selflessly. Though she has transited to join the ancestor, her light continues to guide those she left behind. The legacy of love will echo in the hearts of her family, for Loretta Louise (Hall) Hilliard was not just a name but a cherished spirit whose memory will forever resonate with those she loved.
