Major Hyuk
Kim
August 2, 1949 – March 27, 2026
Major Hyuk Kim, a man of unwavering strength and deep faith, passed away on March 27th, 2026. Born on August 2nd, 1949, his life was a powerful testament to resilience, courage, and love.
He endured a difficult childhood marked by hardship and loss, growing up in orphanages amid poverty and malnutrition. Yet, from these early trials, he rose with remarkable determination to become a distinguished soldier in the Republic of Korea Army Special Forces. Wearing the black beret with pride, he graduated at the top of his officer class and earned many honors, recognized by his generals and leaders as a man of great promise.
Despite a blossoming military career, Major Kim chose a path less certain. He made the brave decision to leave his homeland and his future behind to immigrate with his beloved wife and her family, starting anew in a foreign land without prospects or transferable skills. In those early years, he worked tireless, humble jobs, always providing for his family with dignity, humility, and unwavering confidence.
He embraced many roles—son, brother, protector, provider, and devoted father to his children—carrying the weight of responsibility with quiet strength. Through grit, discipline, sacrifice, and faith, he built a life grounded in hope, always grateful for the family he had longed for.
His love for his wife was profound and steadfast. He supported her fully in her academic journey, standing by her side through every challenge until she earned her PhD. Together, they created a life filled with purpose, growth, and partnership, sustained by faith and grace.
Though distance separated them for over two decades, Major Kim’s unwavering presence and support were a constant source of comfort to his children. His enduring love and quiet strength will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
Now, free from pain and at peace, Major Hyuk Kim rests in the embrace of Heaven, whole again and still watching over those he loved. His legacy of courage, love, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
With love and respect, we honor his remarkable journey and the profound impact he had on our lives.
